Over the past couple of years, it has become increasingly difficult to mail letters, newsletters and books to people in prisons and jails. Many mail rooms have closed and facilities across the country are moving to third party mail processing centers. Mailing address changes rapidly with no notification. In some states, books, newsletters, and letters go to three different addresses in multiple states. This makes it increasingly difficult for anyone trying to maintain a mail-based relationship with people experiencing incarceration.
We’ve built a table of mailing addresses for facilities across the country that reflect the multiple addresses often needed to send content to a single individual.
The addresses shown for each facility specify whether they are the physical address (P), book mailing address (B), or letter mailing address (L). They also specify which facilities use a mail scanning service and which facilities have Edovo. If you see an address that needs to be updated, please share this information as a comment on the address table. We will periodically review comments and upload updated table information.
